Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for three 12-hour evening shifts per week (10am–10:30pm) with rotating weekends/holidays. You will support trauma, stroke, sepsis alerts and provide patient care, phlebotomy, EKGs, and wound care in a fast-paced ED.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, BLS, and approved courses covering patient care, EKG, and phlebotomy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successfully complete approved courses including basic patient care skills, EKG, phlebotomy, and BLS.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient needs in a timely manner and escorts patients as needed.
• Performs phlebotomy and obtains lab specimens as ordered.
• Performs EKGs and basic wound care with sterile technique.
• Collects and documents vital signs and patient information.
• Reports changes to RN or physician promptly and participates in trauma/stroke/cardiac alerts.
