Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses in Dayton, OH is recruiting a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Emergency Department assignment on a 13-week contract. The mid-shift runs 3x12 hours from 15:00 to 03:00, in Dayton, Ohio.

The RN will deliver professional nursing care in accordance with ANA and Ohio Board of Nursing standards, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and promote a patient- and family-centered environment while floating to ED and inpatient units as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Pediatric Emergency Department.
• Active Ohio RN license required.
• Current CPR and PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assessments and deliver proficient care based on patient/family needs.
• Manage a patient team of 1-4 patients depending on acuity.
• Float across ED sites and inpatient units as needed.
• Engage in care delivery at the Mental Health Crisis Center as part of the ED RN rotation.
• Follow cooperative staffing guidelines, floating to other units as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Pediatric Emergency Department will provide professional nursing care using the standards of care set forth by the American Nurses Association and the Ohio Board of Nursing. This role includes collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to promote optimal health outcomes for patients and their families, ensuring that care is tailored to their unique needs in alignment with the hospital's mission.

As part of the role, the RN will also promote a patient- and family-centered environment and effectively adapt to the changing needs of internal and external customers, acting as a change agent within the department.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assessments and deliver proficient nursing care based on patient/family needs.
• Manage a patient team of 1-4 patients depending on the acuity of the unit.
• Participate in floating across various ED sites and inpatient units as necessary.
• Engage in care delivery at the Mental Health Crisis Center as part of the ED RN rotation.
• Follow DCH cooperative staffing guidelines, adapting to low census situations by floating to Specialty Pediatric Units (Med/Surg), PICU, NICU, or Transitional Care Unit as needed.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Pediatric Emergency Department.

Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold an active and unrestricted RN license in Ohio.
• Must have current CPR and PALS certifications.
