Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Leominster, MA is seeking a Patient Safety Observer to provide continuous safety monitoring for assigned patients in the Emergency Department. The position is part-time, on-site, with day shift hours (7:00a–3:30p) and non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification within 6 months of hire.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous safety observation of assigned patients.
• Monitor safety and comfort of patients, including activities of daily living as directed.
• Maintain 15-minute checks with documentation.
• Follow nurse in charge and assist with patient transport.
• Maintain patient dignity and advocate for patients.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to escalate safety concerns.
