Job summary

Mercyhealth in Crystal Lake, IL is seeking an ED Technician trainer and mentor to support new hires and current staff. You will train and precept, educate on procedures and safety, and act as a liaison to nursing management to improve care in the Emergency Department.

The role emphasizes mentoring, documentation, and reliable escalation of concerns while supporting EMS supply and unit operations.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CNA program or Graduate of a medical assistant program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP, or graduate of an MA program with regional or national accreditation approved by the U.S. Department of Education.
• 12 months experience as an ED Technician or 12 months experience as a pre-hospital EMT.

Responsibilities

• Training/precepting new ED Technicians and EMT/Paramedic students in collaboration with the unit educator.
• Mentor to new hires and resource to all ED Technicians.
• Educate newly hired ED Technicians on procedures, safety, and health issues.
• Assist nursing and support leadership in identifying process improvement opportunities.
