Job summary

The Emergency Department Technician I role at MaineHealth supports the care team with stocking, results retrieval and patient tracking, under RN supervision. You will perform patient care such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, ECG and phlebotomy, contributing to efficient ED operations.

Eligible candidates include those with EMT-Advanced, EMT-Basic, Medical Assistant or CNA certification and a current or 30-day-BLS readiness. Part-time positions with day shifts are available and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• License/Certifications: EMT-Advanced, EMT-Basic, Medical Assistant or CNA certification required; BLS within 30 days.
• Experience: Less than six months as an Emergency Department Technician.

Summary:
The Emergency Department Technician I role assists the healthcare team in organizing and implementing basic department activities such as stocking, results retrieval, and patient tracking. Under the guidance of the registered nurse, this role will perform patient care such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, ECG, phlebotomy and other simple procedures.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High school graduate or GED preferred.
• License/Certifications: EMT-Advanced, EMT-Basic, Medical Assistant, or CNA certification required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Experience: Less than six (6) months of experience as an Emergency Department Technician.

The pay range for this position is $20.68to $25.10 per hour.
