Job summary

The Emergency Department Technician I at MaineHealth’s Mid Coast Hospital supports the care team with stocking, results retrieval, and patient tracking under RN supervision. You will perform basic patient care including vital signs, pulse oximetry, ECG and phlebotomy, and other simple procedures.

Qualifications include HS diploma or GED, EMT-Advanced/EMT-Basic/M Medical Assistant or CNA certification, and BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

1+ years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full orPart time positions. Bonus amount prorated forPart timehires,per diem hires are ineligible.

CurrentMaine Healthmember employees are ineligible; former MaineHealthMembersare ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Summary:
The Emergency Department Technician I role assists the healthcare team in organizing and implementing basic department activities such as stocking, results retrieval, and patient tracking. Under the guidance of the registered nurse, this role will perform patient care such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, ECG, phlebotomy and other simple procedures.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High school graduate or GED preferred.


2. License/Certifications: EMT-Advanced, EMT-Basic,Medical Assistant,or CNA certification required. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.


3. Experience: Less than six (6) months of experience as an Emergency Department Technician.

The pay range for this position is $20.68to $25.10 per hour.
