Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join our busy ED team on a full-time day shift (7 AM–7 PM). The role provides support to physicians and nurses, performing procedures under supervision, with emphasis on patient care, de-escalation, and safety.

Candidates must have clinical experience and education as described, and obtain BLS within 90 days of hire.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• EMT-B or equivalent certification at time of hire or military corps school completion.
• Current student in clinical program with at least one completed semester.

Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse.De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.BLS certification within 90 days of hire for all incumbents.EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent (Required)Certification/LicensureNew incumbents must have one of the following in addition to the minimum Education:EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire ORSuccessful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates ORCurrent student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED Tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.ExperiencePrevious clinical experience (Required)We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.07 - $29.88 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
