Sentara Health Plans is hiring an Emergency Department Technician for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. This on-site, full-time role (36 hours/week) supports physicians and nurses in the ED, with 3rd shift coverage and required de-escalation training.

New hires must have a high school diploma or equivalent and EMT-B certification or eligible clinical student status. BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire. Competitive benefits are provided.

• Prior clinical experience in emergency settings preferred.

Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse. De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire. BLS certification within 90 days of hire for all incumbents.**Education*** High School Diploma or equivalent**Certification/Licensure**New incumbents must have one of the following in addition to the minimum Education :* 1. EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR* 2. Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR* 3. Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.* Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above. **Experience** + Previous clinical experienceWe provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits.
