Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks an Emergency Department Technician to assist clinicians in delivering emergent and minor care on-site. The role supports physicians, PAs, and nurses with procedures, treatments, and care planning during the evening shift.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and EMT-B or equivalent certification, plus BLS within 90 days. Prior clinical experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• EMT-B certification or Military Hospital Corps School/MMAC qualification.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
• Previous clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency patients.
• Performs patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• On-site work in Norfolk, VA with evening shift coverage.

EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR2. Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR3. Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.ExperiencePrevious clinical experienceWe provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.07 - $29.88 hourly.
