Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator for the Second Shift at South Hospital - UMC in Shepherdsville, KY. You will support the RN with patient care, perform phlebotomy, EKGs, vital signs, and transport duties in a fast-paced ED setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with admissions, documenting in multiple computer systems, and ensuring equipment readiness and safety, with a focus on patient-centered care and efficient throughput.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of a recognized clinical assistant, medical assistant or EMT program preferred.
• BLS certification (AHA) required for the role.
• Previous ED/acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical patient care support under RN direction, including vitals, intake/output, and mobility assistance.
• Perform phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, wound care, and basic respiratory support as needed.
• Transcribe orders, update patient records, and manage admissions/discharges in hospital systems.
• Prepare trauma rooms, transport specimens, and ensure equipment is clean and maintained.
