Job summary

UofL Health, Inc. seeks an ER Tech/Unit Coordinator for the ED at South Hospital in Shepherdsville, KY. The role is nights from 7 PM to 7 AM, and is part-time.

You will support clinical care under an RN, handle clerical duties, patient transport, and basic procedures in a fast-paced emergency department. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and BLS; EMT/MA/CNA certifications are preferred. Prior ED experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED/equivalent is required.
• Completion of Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT Training Program or Nursing Fundamentals course from an accredited school preferred.
• BLS certification required; CNA/CMA/EMT certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical patient care support under the direction of a RN.
• Performs phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, trauma care and respiratory functions.
• Transcribes and enters physician orders; assists with admitting/discharging patients in hospital systems.
• Transports patients, lab work, specimens and blood.
• Organizes equipment, stocks supplies and maintains infection control practices.
• Assists with procedures and patient mobility, hygiene, and comfort.
