Job summary

UofL Health's South Hospital in Shepherdsville, KY is seeking an Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator (PRN, part-time) to support the RN team in a fast-paced ED. Duties include phlebotomy, EKG, patient transport, charting, and basic clerical tasks under supervision.

Requirements: high school diploma or GED; completion of a Clinical Assistant/Medical Assistant or EMT program (preferred); ED experience (preferred); BLS certification; and HIPAA/infection-control compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT program is preferred.
• Experience in emergency department settings is preferred.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomy and specimen collection under RN direction.
• EKG lead placement and basic cardiac monitoring.
• Patient transport, charting, and clerical tasks under supervision.
• Support admissions, discharges, and coordination with ED staff.
• Assist with wound care, trauma care, and infection control practices.
