Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for part-time night shifts. You will support ED operations under RN and physician supervision, perform vital sign checks, IV management, ECG monitoring, phlebotomy, wound care, and patient assistance.

The role requires EMT licensure, BLS, and a High School diploma with relevant experience. Responsibilities include assisting with OB/GYN care, administering treatments, and maintaining aseptic technique while ensuring patient

Qualifications

• Current EMT license without restrictions or EMT-B within at least one year relative experience in a similar capacity
• High School graduate or equivalent
• CERT Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• The Paramedic functions under the direction of the Emergency Nurse (RN) and Physician. Collect pertinent data and report clinical findings to RN/Physician.
• Assist patients with basic care needs and prioritize patient care activities based on unit activity.
• Administer treatments and procedures within scope of practice as ordered by physician and directed by nursing staff.
• Perform vital sign checks, ECG monitoring, phlebotomy, IVs, wound care, sterile technique, and other duties as assigned.
