Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for the part-time night shift. The role involves assisting the Emergency Nurse and physician, monitoring patients, and performing basic care tasks within the EMT scope of practice.

Responsibilities include vital signs, monitoring, wound care, IV start/discontinuation, phlebotomy, and assisting in OB/GYN care as needed. A current EMT license and BLS/ACLS/PALS preferred are required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Current EMT P license with no restrictions and at least 1 year of related experience.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• CERT Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care under supervision of RNs and physicians.
• Monitors vital signs and performs tasks within certification scope.
• Performs duties per nursing policies and procedures to support patient well-being.
