Job summary

The Emergency Department Technician II at Concord Hospital Health System provides direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse. This role supports patients, maintains the environment, and coordinates supplies as part of the patient care team.

Reporting to the Manager with daily supervision by the Charge Nurse, the position requires a high school diploma and EMT licensure, plus BLS; previous direct patient care experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current Basic EMT certification.
• Advanced EMT certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to requests for patient care assistance as delegated by the Registered Nurse (RN).
• Maintains skill level to perform patient care tasks, to include, intravenous catheter insertion and medication administration, as delegated by the RN.
• Maintains skill level to administer medications as delegated by the RN.
• Collects and processes laboratory specimens.
• Maintains department supplies and equipment.
• Assists with clerical duties.
• Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.
• Serves as a preceptor for new employees.
