Job summary

CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, NJ, is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for the evening shift on a per diem basis. The EDT will support licensed staff by performing assigned duties and delivering patient-focused care in a fast-paced ED.

Responsibilities include basic nursing tasks, vitals, specimen collection, and patient observation. The role requires caring, safety-minded teamwork and flexibility across units as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year nursing assistant healthcare experience OR CNA/PCT training OR enrollment in nursing program.
• CPR Certification required.
• Phlebotomy, EKG, EMT certifications preferred.
• Crisis Prevention Institute training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provides considerate respectful care focused upon the patient's individual need to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Affirms the patient's right to make decisions regarding medical care, per legal allowances.
• Performs tasks safely, observes patient needs, and documents vital signs and inputs/outputs.
• Assists with activities of daily living and basic nursing care as directed by RN.
• Capably floats between units as EDT/PCT and maintains 1:1 observation when required.
