Job summary

Stamford Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (EDT) to support patient care in the Tully Health Center ED under supervision of physicians and nurses. The role includes assisting in examinations, preparing patients for procedures, drawing blood, performing ECGs, and documenting care in the EMR.

The EDT will participate in the ED team, aid in patient throughput, and ensure safety, cleanliness, and effective communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• EMT-B Certification required on hire.
• BLS certification required.
• CNA certification with two+ years ED technician experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Emergency Department under supervision of physician, PA, or RN.
• Assists in examinations and procedures, ensuring patient and customer satisfaction.
• Prepares patients and specimens for exams, tests, and imaging.
• Performs lab tests, draws blood, and conducts ECGs when indicated.
• Maintains equipment and supplies, documents care in EMR, and ensures safety and confidentiality.
