Job summary

Springfield Hospital seeks an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to assist nursing staff and support patient care under RN/Medic supervision. You will perform delegated tasks and help maintain a safe, efficient ED environment.

The role emphasizes ongoing knowledge in Emergency Patient Care, calm response during crises, and adherence to hospital policies while assisting with patient registration and pre-hospital/EMS coordination.

Qualifications

• Current Vermont EMT-B or higher license or current Vermont Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) License.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
• Five (5) years’ experience as EMT-B or LNA (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the nursing staff.
• Perform delegated tasks under the supervision of an RN and/or Medic.
• Assist in providing patient care per Emergency Department policies.
• Maintain and increase knowledge base in Emergency Patient Care.
• Demonstrate ability to assist in delivery of patient care.
• Follow established protocols and competencies approved by Springfield Hospital.
• Support the ED Receptionist and assist in patient registration.
• Remain calm and professional during times of crisis in the department.
• Function as part of the ED team to support patients.
• Understand and support pre-hospital/EMS/Fire and Rescue policies.
