Job summary

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Department Technician Advanced to join our Level 1 Trauma Center team in Lebanon, NH. The role supports patient care across rotating Day/Night shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a) and collaborates with RNs, physicians, and staff to deliver timely care.

Qualifications

• A high school graduate or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication skills desired with the ability to work collaboratively as member of multi-disciplinary team in a chaotic environment.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and keyboarding skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse including ADLs, vital signs, EKGs, collecting specimens, and recording results.
• Start intravenous lines with saline lock and administer medications as directed by physician orders.
• Apply splints and immobilizers; remove IVs after competencies.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by keeping hallways clear and restocking rooms and equipment.
• Assist visitors, volunteers, and patient family members; mentor new co-workers.
• Monitor patients who require close observation as needed (e.g., agitation or restraints).
• Perform administrative tasks including answering phones, faxing, and prioritizing communications.
