Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking an ED Tech Advanced at West Hospital to provide direct patient care under RN guidance, handling essential tasks in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) program preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred; obtain prior to direct patient care when hired.
• Current AEMT certification preferred; required if employed in SC.
• 1 year of experience as an LPN, ED Tech, or Advanced EMT required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, hygiene, mobility, vitals and lab draws under RN guidance.
• Perform ED Tech Advanced duties such as colostomy care, IV insertion and site care, and CPR as needed.
• Complete patient rounding, safety companion duties, and liaison between patient and nurse.
• Document patient care accurately and participate in handoff reports.
• Demonstrate problem solving and maintain policy knowledge; work under stress.
