Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Rahway, NJ, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Per Diem Day shifts in the Emergency Department. The role supports fast-paced acute care with a Primary Stroke Center, telemetry, and ED services; requires strong clinical judgment and teamwork.

You will conduct assessments, administer medications, document in EPIC, and participate in rounds and care transitions. Active NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS preferred, ED/CCU experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 2 years plus of critical care experience, ED preferred.
• Strong communication, critical and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, intervening early.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Serve as clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, aiding timely decisions.
• Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and coordination of care transitions.
• Collaborate in a highly team-based environment to impact outcomes.
• Pursue ongoing education and professional growth through clinical ladder opportunities.
