Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at RWJUH Somerset. Day shift, 36 hours weekly, 7am-7:30pm. Active NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS; ADN required, BSN preferred; 1 year acute care preferred; EPIC EMR experience a plus.

You will assess patients, administer evidence-based care, document thoroughly, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective transitions of care.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required.
• At least 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
• ADN is required; BSN strongly preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and intervene as needed.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers for timely care decisions.
• Educate patients and families to support understanding and continuity.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning.
• Contribute to a collaborative, safety-focused team environment.
• PURSUE ongoing professional growth through continuing education.
