Job summary

Animas Surgical Hospital in Durango, CO is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on an established unit, working with a multidisciplinary team.

Requires BSN preferred, RN license, CPR, ACLS/PALS/TNCC per policy, and prior ED experience preferred. On-site role with competitive pay and benefits; flexible scheduling and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
• Current state license as a registered nurse; CPR certification; ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications per policy.
• Previous experience as an RN in related care area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide quality patient care according to established standards of care including planning, implementing, evaluating, and adjusting plan of care, and discharge planning based on expected patient outcomes.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges patients.
• Completes ongoing patient assessment and documents according to policy
• Develops patient plan of care to include patient problems, goals, evaluations and interventions.
• Reports symptoms and significant changes in patient’s condition to appropriate personnel and in timely manner.
• Assesses, collaborates and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other members of the care team.
• Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards and guidelines in caring for child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Collaborates and works cooperatively with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team in teaching patients and/or family about disease processes and discharge planning.
• Demonstrates awareness of research in nursing and evaluates practices for improvement.
