Job summary

Texas Health Denton is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department (mid shift). You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ED, delivering the Nursing Process, with emphasis on assessment, planning, and interventions.

Eligible new hires may receive a sign-on bonus and opportunities for leadership development. Qualifications include an RN license, Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred), BCLS/ACLS, CPI, ENPC, TNCC, and PALS within required timeframes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or nursing diploma required; RN license on hire.
• BCLS required before independent patient care and quarterly.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire; CPI within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year RN experience or completion of RN residency; ER experience 2–3 years preferred.
• ENPC and TNCC within 12 months; PALS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age-specific safety and infection control measures.
• Initiates information for patients and families.
• Maintains continuity of care across shifts and transfers.
