Job summary

McPherson Hospital Inc. seeks a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to evaluate, plan, implement and document nursing care in a fast-paced trauma setting.

Requires Kansas RN license, ACLS/PALS/TNCC within 6 months, and an ASN (BSN preferred). 1–2 years Medical/Surgical or critical care experience is desired, with strong communication and time management skills to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) or equivalent.
• Preferred: BSN.
• 1-2 years of Medical/Surgical experience.
• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC within 6 months of hire.
• Licensed RN in Kansas in good standing.
• Strong communication, organization and time management.

Responsibilities

• Works in the Emergency Department/Trauma Care environment.
• Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to manage workload and patient volumes.
• Assesses patient understanding of plan of care and educates to aid discharge.
• Administers medications per five rights and established protocols.
• Communicates patient condition changes to physicians and staff.
• Documents findings and actions for continuity of care.
• Responds to emergencies and leads code situations per ACLS/PALS/TNCC protocols.
