Job summary

Mcpherson Hospital, Inc. seeks a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to evaluate, plan, implement and document comprehensive nursing care per the Kansas Nurse Practice Act. The RN will work in a fast-paced trauma setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage patient flow and care.

Minimum ADN required; BSN preferred. Licensure in Kansas is necessary, with ACLS, PALS, and TNCC within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Kansas RN license.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient understanding of plan of care and educate for discharge.
• Follow five rights of medication administration and document actions.
• Communicate patient status with physicians and nursing/ancillary staff.
• Document concerns and plan of care for continuity of care.
• Monitor vitals and changes in condition; respond to emergencies.
