Job summary

Community Health Resources in Manchester, CT seeks a full-time Recovery Support Specialist to join the MH Emergency Department team. The role travels between hospitals and supports individuals with mental health and substance use needs, operating Monday through Friday, 10:30am–7pm.

Required certifications include RSS from Advocacy Unlimited or CCAR, and a valid Driver’s License; lived recovery experience is valued. Competitive benefits accompany this essential frontline role.

Qualifications

• Lived experience establishing and maintaining recovery from mental health or substance use condition(s).
• 2+ years working with identified populations; RSS preferred. Self-identifies as in long-term recovery.

Responsibilities

• Identify and advocate for clients' recovery goals.
• Provide assessments and create person-centered treatment plans.
• Deliver crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Coordinate with treatment teams and natural supports.
• Link clients to community resources and follow-up care.
