Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Erie, PA seeks a Patient Care Technician I to provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, collect specimens, and document in the EMR.

The role requires a HS diploma, 2 weeks training, ability to read/write, basic math and computer skills; ASN/BSN enrollment preferred. Shifts are 3x12 hours, including days, evenings, overnight and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.
• Basic math and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care including vitals and activities of daily living.
• Assists RN with care of acutely ill patients and ensures patient safety.
• Documents in EMR and communicates changes to nursing staff.
• Supports admissions, discharges and transfers and maintains unit upkeep.
