Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking an ED Patient Access Representative for the full-time day shift at GBMC Hospital in Towson. You will interview Emergency Department patients, collect insurance information, prepare admission registrations, and perform clerical tasks to support patient flow.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED; CHAA preferred; 1–2 years experience in an emergency or hospital setting preferred.

Qualifications

• Interviews ED patients and gathers necessary information at registration.
• Knowledge of insurance and billing processes, including co-pays.
• Familiarity with privacy and regulatory requirements (EMTALA preferred).
• Proficient in data entry and use of hospital computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Completes arrival and registration for ED patients.
• Verifies demographics and insurance information; collects signatures and payments.
• Handles patient questions and directs to appropriate departments.
• Uses Epic and other systems to enter and retrieve patient data.
