Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD seeks an ED Admission Support role to assist with inpatient and outpatient admissions, triage, and patient transport. You will work under supervision to ensure smooth ED flow and quality customer service while supporting RN/MD staff.

Requirements include EMS program graduation, CPR, and at least 1 year of related experience. Expect variety in fast-paced work with opportunities to contribute to patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• Education: High school or GED and EMT/CRT/Paramedic program completion.
• Current and valid CPR certification is required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of triage criteria and care levels in urgent vs emergent settings.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Complete triage documentation including vital signs and phlebotomy under RN guidance.
• Maintain patient flow and communicate care plans to patients and families.
• Assist with cleaning ED rooms and report abnormal vitals to RNs.
• Perform blood glucose testing and blood draws under supervision.
• Record and transmit procedures in the EHR and monitor equipment as needed.
• Stock rooms and support transport of patients in emergencies.
