AdventHealth in Kansas is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to support patient registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling in a hospital setting. The role emphasizes accurate data capture, HIPAA compliance, and delivering compassionate customer service.

Responsibilities include Medicare-related reviews, pre-authorizations, and cashiering duties, with a night/weekend schedule. Strong English/Spanish communication and EMR proficiency are essential for success in this role.

Formación

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required or preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or customer service preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy.

Responsabilidades

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue ABN notices as needed.
• Create estimates for patient financial responsibility and collect payments.
• Coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorization issues.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations.
• Register patients and confirm insurance details.
• Provide excellent customer service and document conversations.
• Cover PBX and perform cashiering duties.
