Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Nursing Tech III in the Emergency Department. You will perform advanced patient care procedures (IV therapy, wound care, suturing under supervision) and support department operations.

You’ll coordinate equipment, assist with patient teaching, and document in PACIS. The role requires Basic Life Support (BLS) and Phlebotomy Certification, with 6 months of patient care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus trade or vocational school in medical/surgical patient care.
• 6 months patient care experience required. One to three years experience preferred.
• Receives on-the-job training and competency verification to perform primary functions.
• Microsoft Office Skills
• Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT)
• BLS required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patients and collects information for documentation in the patient record. Transports patients and documents action on patient record.
• Inserts and removes peripheral intravenous therapy lines and performs phlebotomy under supervision.
• Performs wound care and dressing changes; prepares patients for procedures.
• Coordinates and maintains equipment and sterile processing systems.
• Operates patient monitoring systems and uses PACIS as needed.
• Stocks supplies and maintains equipment logs; transports specimens as required.
• Assists with activities of daily living and patient hygiene.
