Job summary

Children’s Hospital of Orange County in Orange, CA seeks an experienced Nursing Director for the Emergency Department to oversee patient care delivery, workflows, and staffing across shifts.

The role directly supervises RNs, Clinical staff and support personnel, leads hiring, performance reviews, mentoring, scheduling, and labor relations, and drives quality audits, daily huddles, staff meetings, and patient-centered care in a fiscally responsible manner.

Qualifications

• RN required with license in CA.
• BSN required; MSN or healthcare-related master's preferred.
• ACLS and BLS; CCM required within 3 months of hire; ENPC, PALS; TNCC/ATCN acceptable alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient care delivery and ED workflow.
• Directly supervise RNs, Clinical staff, and Support staff including hiring, evaluating, mentoring, scheduling and employee relations.
• Lead quality audits, daily huddles, staff/quality meetings; ensure patient-centered care within fiscal constraints.
• Rounding with patients and families; lead continuous improvement initiatives.
