Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is seeking a Nurse Aide II for the Emergency Department on the Night Shift (7 p - 7 a). You will support nursing and medical staff, ensure patient comfort and safety, and help maintain clean and organized care areas.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification (AHA) and first aid training.
• EMT certificate or hospital/sub-acute experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Observes the patient and relays information and any changes to the appropriate nursing personnel.
• Observes the patient and reports any reaction or change in condition to the nurse in a timely manner.
• Assists the patient in the activities of daily living - nourishment, ambulation, personal hygiene and toileting.
• Provides direct nursing care to patients by performing vital signs, baths, Foley catheter care and enemas as required.
• Demonstrates proper turning and positioning of patient to maintain skin integrity under RN direction.
• Distributes patient nourishment and documents intake.
• Manages patient flow into examination areas and supports patient safety and comfort.
• Responds to emergencies under RN direction, including CPR and patient movement.
