NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk in Suffolk County, NY, is seeking a Nurse Aide II for the Emergency Department on a part-time days schedule. Under the supervision of the RN, you will assist nursing and medical staff, prepare equipment, transport patients, and support orientation of new staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS, and EMT or nursing student status; strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential for patient comfort and safety.

Qualificações

• High School diploma or GED; BLS certification (AHA only); and first aid training.
• De-escalation training on the job.
• EMT certificate or prior hospital/sub-acute experience or be a nursing student.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patients and their families.
• Basic analytical skills to gather data, complete comparisons, interpret and report outcomes.
• Excellent customer service and telephone skills.
• Ability to manage and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsabilidades

• Observes the patient and relays information to nursing staff.
• Observes the patient and reports any change in condition to the nurse promptly.
• Assists the patient with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Provides direct nursing care including vital signs, baths, and catheter care.
• Turns and positions patient to maintain skin integrity under RN direction.
• Maintains patient nourishment and records intake.
• Supports patient flow into examination areas and assists with emergencies under RN direction.
• Responds to emergencies including CPR under RN direction.
