Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner for IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. This full-time role focuses on onboarding, competency management, and education to advance ED staff and learners, aligned with evidence-based practice and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree of Nursing (BSN) required.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA; other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department.
• Must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Two years of experience preferred.
• Must be willing to travel to meet system educational needs.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of adult learning principles.
• Emergency Department experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new ED staff.
• Manage competency assessments and ongoing professional development for ED staff.
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver targeted educational programs for emergency care.
• Support role development initiatives within the ED through training.
• Collaborate with ED leadership to meet educational objectives.
• Promote evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes in emergency care.
