Job summary

Indiana University Health seeks a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner to enhance learner competence and growth. The role collaborates with leaders to support onboarding, competency management, and education across units, promoting excellence in patient care.

The practitioner will lead educational initiatives, foster evidence-based practice, and ensure staff development aligns with IU Health goals and patient care needs.

Qualifications

• BSN is required and must be from an accredited program.
• Active RN license in Indiana or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• Additional advanced life support certifications may be required depending on unit or specialty.
• Two years of nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles; willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and assess competency development and maintenance for clinical staff.
• Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs and role development initiatives.
• Build collaborative partnerships with unit leaders, educators, and stakeholders to support organizational goals.
• Facilitate inquiry and evidence-based practice to promote continuous improvement.
• Lead onboarding and orientation programs for new staff and learners.
• Support system-wide and unit-specific educational strategies to meet evolving patient care needs.
