Job summary

The Indiana University Health System seeks a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (PRN) to educate and develop nursing staff across IU Health. The role includes delivering system Core Classes, onboarding, competency development, and promoting evidence-based practice.

Based primarily at IU Health North Hospital in Carmel, IN, the practitioner may travel to other regional facilities as needed and collaborates with nursing leaders to support regulatory compliance and patient care

Qualifications

BSN required; active RN license in Indiana or NLC.
BLS certification required; other advanced life support may be required per unit.
Two years of experience preferred; teaching experience preferred.
Willingness to travel to regional facilities as needed.
Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and teaching methods.

Responsibilities

Facilitate and teach system Core Classes and educational programs for nursing staff.
Support onboarding and orientation through classroom and skills-based instruction.
Coordinate competency development, validation, and management activities.
Design, deliver, and evaluate educational offerings using adult learning principles.
Promote ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
Build partnerships with leaders to achieve strategic educational goals.
Support evidence-based practice and continuous improvement initiatives.
Serve as an educational resource at unit, facility, and system levels.
Contribute to a learning environment that supports patient care excellence.
