Job summary

Boston Medical Center's Emergency Department is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist II for overnight coverage. The role focuses on direct patient care, optimizing pharmacotherapy and safety, with opportunities to participate in committees and training of residents and students.

The position emphasizes ED pharmacotherapy for trauma and pediatric/adult patients, with potential involvement in PGY2 residents and other trainees.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
Massachusetts licensure to practice pharmacy by the start date.
PGY1 residency with at least 1 year relevant experience.
PGY2 in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care, or equivalent preferred.
Two years of hospital pharmacy experience and/or completion of an ASHP accredited residency.
Strong interpersonal skills towards patients, physicians and nurses.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to optimize pharmacotherapy and ensure medication safety.
Work overnight in the Emergency Department (9 pm - 7:30 am) for seven days on, seven days off.
Precept APPE students and pharmacy residents; participate in committees and project work.
Engage in education and training of other health care providers and trainees.
Contribute to trauma response and pharmacotherapy for adult and pediatric ED patients.
Support quality improvement projects within the department.
