Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is seeking an Emergency Department Boarder Clinical Pharmacist. The role focuses on comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for ED admissions, coordinating with the ED Medication History Technician team to optimize transitions of care and medication management.

The position offers opportunities to support ICU cross-cover, precept students and residents, and contribute to quality improvement through interdisciplinary

Qualifications

• Pharmacist with PGY1 plus 1–3 years or PGY2 or 3–5 years in a clinical specialty.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders with patient-specific parameters.
• Document and communicate pertinent information with the healthcare team.
• Provide drug information to physicians, nurses and other health professionals.
• Supervise students, technicians, and residents within the practice area.
• Promote patient safety by reporting medication events and near misses.
• Support formulary stewardship and participate in Pharmacy & Therapeutics activities.
