Job summary

Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT, seeks an Emergency Department support professional to assist with patient care under RN supervision. You will prepare treatment areas, perform phlebotomy and EKGs, and help transport patients to tests and units while maintaining clear communication with patients and families.

Requirements include EMT or Medical Assistant certification, nursing student status, or prior ED experience, plus CPR certification. Competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Current EMT, or Medical Assistant certification, or Nursing student.
• 1 year prior ED experience.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of the treatment area and stock maintenance.
• Prepares patients for exam and positions for comfort with monitoring.
• Performs vital signs, I&O, EKGs, bladder scans, glucose and phlebotomy.
• Works with RN and ED providers as part of the pod team, including triage.
• Places patients on monitors and assists with fluid warmer and equipment.
• Documents care, transports to testing and inpatient units, and attends meetings.
