Job summary

Connecticut Children's Medical Center seeks a dedicated patient care support professional for an inpatient pediatric unit. Under RN supervision, you will provide hands-on care, assist with feeding, hygiene, vital signs, and basic procedures to support health and comfort of young patients and their families.

Required: high school diploma; CNA/EMT training and BLS/CPR. Preferred: pediatric experience and crisis intervention training.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience: High School Diploma, GED or higher.
• Preferred: EMT Basic/Intermediate/Paramedic or CNA training.
• License: CNA certification and BLS/CPR required on hire; crisis intervention training within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision, including feeding, hygiene and daily living activities.
• Obtain vitals, test specimens, and assist with admissions and discharges.
• Perform basic wound care, apply splints, and transport patients as needed.
• Maintain unit supplies, equipment checks, and accurate documentation in electronic records.
• Demonstrate safety, infection control, and culturally sensitive care for pediatric patients.
