Job summary

Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT is seeking an ED support role to assist the Emergency Department team. You will prepare the treatment area, perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, basic nursing tasks and transport patients, while communicating with RNs and providers to ensure smooth throughput.

Requirements include current EMT or Medical Assistant certification or nursing student status, CPR, and at least one year of ED experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current EMT, MA certification or nursing student status.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in emergency department preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and stocking of treatment areas.
• Take vital signs, I&Os, and document patient data.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, bladder scans and other tasks as directed.
• Transport patients to testing and inpatient units.
• Maintain communication with RN and ED providers about patient status.
