Job summary

Stamford Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (EDT) to support patient care in the Emergency Department under the supervision of physicians, PAs, and licensed nurses. The role emphasizes teamwork, efficient patient flow, and accurate documentation in the EMR.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and certification or diploma from an accredited program (Medical Assistant, EMT-B, CNA with ED experience, or nursing student). BLS is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Certification or diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program, or EMT-B certification, or CNA with ED technician experience, or nursing student.
• Basic computer skills.
• English proficiency (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the ED under the supervision of a physician, PA, or RN.
• Direct and accompany patients to examine rooms as needed.
• Assist care providers during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare specimens, perform laboratory tests, run point-of-care tests, and draw blood.
• Perform ECGs and monitor vital signs.
