The position performs EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, and transport, while coordinating with staff and maintaining supplies. EMT/Paramedic certification and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• EMT or Paramedic Certificate required; BLS in place; ACLS preferred.
• 1–3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes and completes responsibilities delegated by nurses and physicians.
• Maintains calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, splinting, crutch walking, activities of daily living.
• Assists providers and patients with physical/psychological needs.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection and point-of-service lab testing.
• Communicates results to staff and documents in the medical record.
• Transports stable patients to inpatient units under ED nurse direction.
• Transfers patients to travel monitors and prepares equipment for transport.
• Maintains supply inventory and stocks supplies and linens.
