Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an ED Tech to join the Emergency Department in Plymouth, MA. The role supports patient care by cleaning, stocking, and preparing the ED, transporting patients, and performing clinical tasks such as EKGs, wound care, and specimen collection.

Ideal candidates may hold a CNAs license or EMT license or have MA program training, with CPI within 6 months of hire. Paramedic license is a plus. 36 hpw on 12-hour shifts with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

Current Certified Nurse Assistant License, EMT License or graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required or current enrollment in a nursing program with at least 1 year of clinical rotations completed; or a minimum of 2 years current experience as an ED Tech.
CPI required within 6 months of hire.
Preference given to those who hold a Paramedic license.

Responsibilities

Cleans, stocks, and readies the ED for care.
Transports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations as needed.
Performs clinical functions such as EKGs, suture setup, wound cleansing with sterile technique, and specimen collection (urine/serum).
Assists in EDMD and Orthopedics by applying splints, molds, and immobilizers; sets up orthopedic clinic.
Performs lab draws as required.
Follows physician/nurse directions and ED nursing staff guidance.
