Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking an Emergency Department Tech II to support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care. You will participate in patient care interventions, assist with exams and treatments, and perform ED-specific tasks across a busy, 79-bed ED.

The role requires the ability to lift, transfer patients, and work in a fast-paced environment. Schedule is 3 x 12-hour shifts (days and nights) with comprehensive safety protocols and hazmat readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; NCA I or EMT training preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• One year of related health care experience as an NCA/ED Tech/EMT or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support patient care through routine and advanced clinical tasks under RN guidance.
• Assist physicians and nurses with examination, treatment, and care of patients.
• Handle clerical duties to support department operations.
• Perform CPR when needed.
• Perform adult, isolated venipuncture for collection of routine blood specimens.
