Job summary

VEG ER for Pets in Santa Monica, CA is hiring an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You will handle a wide range of emergencies, support doctors, and provide compassionate care to pets and their people during stressful moments.

We value hands-on nursing, critical care, and teamwork, with opportunities for learning, mentorship, and growth. Expect nights, weekends, and holiday shifts in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in veterinary technology; AVMA accredited program preferred.
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of practice.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software and EMR.
• Excellent communication and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person with empathy and care during tests and treatments.
• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Administer meds, monitor patients, and assist with procedures.
• Communicate clearly with team to ensure smooth patient care.
• Be prepared to perform CPR and participate in emergency protocols.
• Assist with diagnostics, imaging, and sample collection.
• Assist anesthesia and monitor patients under care.
• Utilize advanced techniques and equipment as needed.
