Job summary

VEG is hiring an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician in Los Angeles. You will join a fast-paced team delivering high-quality emergency care, triage, treatments, anesthesia, and critical nursing in a supportive environment.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, clear communication with clients, and collaboration with doctors to stabilize and treat a wide range of emergencies, including exotics. Expect rotation to nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited vet tech program preferred.
• CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT credential in the practicing state required; VTS in ECC/IM/anesthesia a plus.
• 1+ year experience as veterinary technician; ER or specialty experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; team-oriented.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg (40 kg with assistance).
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with emergency procedures, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care tasks.
• Handle IVs, CRIs, blood products, and routine diagnostics.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and team to plan patient care and flow.
• Perform routine duties while maintaining patient and client comfort.
