Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team in Florida. You will handle a wide range of cases from minor to complex emergencies, collaborating with doctors to deliver gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care.

You will participate in triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, maintaining composure and compassion for pets and their parents during stressful moments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology strongly preferred
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state where the VEG practice is located
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred
• Basic computer skills and comprehension of practice management software and EMR
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; ready to lend a hand to support those around you
• Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg (40 kg with assistance)
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on rotating basis

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person like they matter throughout tests and treatments
• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support in critical moments
• Manage meds, monitoring, and mastery from IVs to blood transfusions
• Collaborate with doctors and team to shape care plans and maintain flow
• Perform CPR and other emergency procedures as needed
• Assist with diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tubes placement
• Conduct anesthesia for patients as required and use advanced toolkit techniques
